True to ASEAN’s motto of One Vision, One Identity, One Community, the recently concluded ASEAN 51 and AP/Social Sciences Festival of Talents Division Eliminations exemplified the vision of making the event a success, showcasing the identity of the different public secondary schools of Naga City through the ASEAN countries they represented, and forging collaboration and camaraderie among the Araling Panlipunan and Social Science Coordinators of the different public secondary schools of Naga City.
The ASEAN 51 and AP/Social Sciences Festival of Talents Division Eliminations is a two-day event held on August 16 and 17, 2018 at the Naga City Science High School’s Pavilion, Gabaldon Building of Camarines Sur National High School, and the Event Center of LCC Mall Sabang. The said event was participated by the nine public secondary schools of Naga City, namely: Naga City Science High School, Camarines Sur National High School, Concepcion Pequeῆa National High School, Naga City School of Arts and Trades, Tinago National High School, Cararayan National High School, Don Leon Q. Mercado High School, Carolina National High School, and Del Rosario High School. The active participation of the nine public secondary schools of Naga City was made possible under the efficient leadership of the Araling Panlipunan and Social Sciences Coordinators, namely: Nelia F. Hernandez and Herbert C. Ognita, Jr., AP and Social Sciences Coordinators of Naga City Science High School; Rose Ann Mae B. Tubal and Arlene R. Andes, AP and Social Sciences Coordinators of Camarines Sur National High School; Judy T. Montas, AP/Social Sciences Coordinator of Concepcion Pequeῆa National High School; Dolores T. Chavez and Marife F. Caceres, AP and Social Sciences Coordinators of Naga City School of Arts and Trades; Chona D. Peralta, AP/Social Sciences Coordinator of Tinago National High School; Alicia Bacera, AP/Social Sciences Coordinator of Cararayan National High School; Janelyn Raynera, AP/Social Sciences Coordinator of Don Leon Q. Mercado High School; Nerissa S. Faurillo and Norman C. Lingahan, AP and Social Sciences Coordinators of Carolina National High School; and Melissa Karen V. Barbacena, AP/Social Sciences Coordinator of Del Rosario High School. Moreover, the event was successfully pulled off because of the guidance and mentorship of the Education Program Supervisor Jarme D. Taumatorgo, Marilyn L. Azaῆa, and Randy P. Bacares, Ph.D., over-all AP and Social Sciences Coordinators in Secondary, respectively.
Naga City Science High School represented Indonesia, Camarines Sur National High School represented Thailand, Concepcion Pequeῆa National High School represented Myanmar, Naga City School of Arts and Trades represented Brunei Darussalam, Tinago National High School represented Laos PDR, Cararayan National High School represented Cambodia, Don Leon Q. Mercado High School represented Singapore, Carolina National High School represented Vietnam, and Del Rosario High School represented Malaysia.
Naga City Science High School bagged the over-all champion while Camarines Sur National High School got the 2nd place. The winners for the Jingle Writing and Singing Contest, ASEAN Pop Quiz, and the Search for ASEAN Ambassadress will represent the Division of Naga City to the Regional AP/Social Sciences Festival of Talents Eliminations.
