School administrators and secondary teachers from both public and private schools of Naga gathered for an Orientation Workshop on Anti-Drug Curriculum which underscored the crucial role of DepEd and other stakeholders in addressing the menace of drug abuse.

 

 

From rigid consultations, orientation and write shops, try-outs and validation, the lesson plans produced by selected writers in Araling Panlipunan, Health, Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao and some core subjects of Senior High School led by EPS Jarme D. Taumatorgo the project coordinator and Hon. Joselito S.A. Del Rosario author of SP Resolution NO. 2018-060 , the basis of the activity, finally distributed to the secondary schools at the end of the training workshop prototype lesson plans for the advocacy.

 

 

The activity was conducted last June 13-14, 2019 at Robertson Hotel with Chief Haydee S. Bolivar, representing the DepEd Regional Director Gilbert T. Sadsad, and Hon. Mayor John G. Bongat for the messages. Speakers from the Department of Health, Local Dangerous Drugs Board, Philippine National Police, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency were invited to discuss efforts and activities of their department and agency relative to the project. Eric Sison a former drug dependent, gave testimonies on the effects of drug abuse.  

 

 

Nelia F. Hernandez of Naga City Science High School and Randy Bacares, Ph.D of Camarines Sur National High School facilitated the sessions on 21st Century Learning Balance and Why Do we Teach? and Teaching Strategies that promotes 21st Century Learning.

 

 

In conclusion, the 2019 City Youth Officials of Naga City presented Resolution No. 2019-174, commending the 24 technical writers involved in the development of the localized values-based and holistic anti-illegal drugs lesson plans for secondary schools.
